How to Apply
Applications were open from May 10–June 20, 2017, and are now closed.
There is no cost to apply. The enrollment fee for selected applicants is $250. Please apply even if you’re not sure you can afford the fee. We’ll work something out!
All materials and software will be provided. Bring your own laptop if possible – but we have loaners as well as desktop workstations available by reservation.
Who it’s for
SPF 90 FPS is open only to Toronto-based genderqueer, nonbinary, two spirit, femme folks and/or women over the age of 18. We especially encourage Black, Indigenous and people of colour to apply and prioritize their applications.
This program is designed for creators:
- of all levels of experience
- who wish to explore the expressive potential of interactive VR experiences
- from any background: animators, filmmakers, game designers, video artists, sound artists, performing artists, photographers, fashion designers, cartoonists, etc.!
But I don’t know how to code!
While comfort with computers and an understanding of basic programming concepts will be an asset, no coding, game, VR or art experience is required.
Just be ready to roll up your sleeves! We’ll be diving into intermediate concepts, but you’ll have plenty of support from our experienced instructors and fleet of friendly mentors.
